Getting Radio Netherlands On Air to work |
A RealAudio Player is needed to playback sound stored on our website. This page explains how to download and set up the free
RealAudio Player. It will require leaving this site, and then closing your browser in order to download and install the files.There are two things you must do now.
- Place this site on your list of "favorites" or "bookmarks" so you can find your way back to this page.
- Print this page of to keep as a reference. Use the "Print" button at the top of your window, or go to "File" and then "Print".

Go to the
RealAudio site to download the player.
- Fill out the form. Don't forget to use the drop down menus to choose your operating system and type of computer.
- Click on the button that says : download Free RealPlayer
- On the next page, check that the version of RealPlayer to be downloaded is the right version for your computer. Next, click on a location that is nearest to you to begin downloading.
- A dialague box similar to this will appear

- It is asking you where to save the file on your computer when it is downloaded. You can use the drop down list to help choose a location
on your harddrive. Be sure to note the location so that you can find the file later. If you are using a Macintosh computer or Windows 95,
saving the file on your desktop is a good idea. It makes the file really easy. You can leave the name as "r32_g2b2_1.exe" (the name of your
file might differ slightly, if you have a version for a different kind of computer) or you can choose a new name like "RealPlayer Installer". If
you are using Windows 3.1, you will have to choose another location for your file.
- While the file is downloading, you will see a box similar to the one below. It will keep you informed as to how the download is progressing. It will disappear when the download is finished.

- When the file has finished downloading, you will need to close your browser and any other applications that you have open, before installing the RealPlayer program.

Now that all of your applications are closed, you should have a clear view of your desktop.
- If you saved the RealAudio installation file to your desktop, you should be able to see the icon for it. It will have the name that you gave it in step #6 above and look something like this.
Double click on the icon to launch the installation program

- If you saved the file in a different location than your desktop, open you file management program and find the file. Do click on the name of the file to start the installation program.
- The RealPlayer will be installed in the C:\Program Files\Real\Player directory, unless you specifically indicate another location during the installation process. A plug-in
appliction will also be installed in you internet browser.

Connect to the Internet and launch your browser.
- Return to the Radio Netherlands On Air page by choosing it from the favorite or bookmark list, or by typing
http://www.rnw.nl/distrib/RealAudio into the location box and pressing "Enter"
Now click on the live stream logo or on a programme you would like to hear. The first time that you use RealAudio the radioprogramme will download, and you will see a dialogue box asking if you would
like to save the file you are downloading, or choose an applications to open it with. Choose the "Pick application" button, and navigate to the folder and file where RealPlayer is installed.
