RNTC’s mission is twofold:
(1) RNTC contributes to development of media
(2) RNTC promotes the effective use of media for development
We work in developing countries and in countries in transition
On a daily basis this means that we work with:
(a) Media organisations, media professionals and media managers on strenthening their professional capacity.
(b) Training organisations, educational institutes and university departments in passing on the teaching methodologies we have developed over the years.
(c) Civil society organisations and international organisations in using media effectively to communicate with different target groups, in the interest of development.
RNTC's activities are ultimately aimed at the role media play in improving the lives of the people in developing countries. Our focus is not on training and consultancy activities in itself, but on the results they have for development.
Since the RNTC refresher course in Kampala in which I participated, peace
building and conflict management have become key interest areas in my work.
I have done a lot of work in these areas and continue to do so. These themes
also blend well with the migration course I did in Hilversum.
