Transport
The Guesthouse is one bus stop from RNTC. Participants will be given a public transport card that allows them to travel for free in and between Bussum and Hilversum. The bus stop is close to the Guesthouse.

There is also the option of buying a second hand bicycle for the duration of the course, or renting one. Sportive participants can opt to walk: it’s only 25 minutes… For an overview see the Google map. Click on the map and type in Search Maps: Bastion hotel, Bussum, nl.

Meals
All meals are included in the course fee. Breakfast is served at the Guesthouse: bread, butter and jam, cheese or meat, eggs, cereals, milk, tea or coffee. Lunch during week days is provided in the restaurant at Radio Netherlands Worldwide, with a choice of hot or cold meals.

Dinner can be enjoyed at the restaurant as well or can be taken to the Guesthouse, where it can be heated up in the microwave at a time that might be more suitable. A (free) machine at RNTC provides coffee, tea, hot or cold water and hot chocolate.

Contact with home
During the course participants work on a laptop computer (one for each person) with an internet connection.

The laptops remain at RNTC but the building is open after course hours and during the weekend so the laptops can be used for communication with family and friends.

RNTC will introduce participants to telephone cards that will enable them to phone from all telephones at RNTC and the Guesthouse at discount prices.

Climate and clothes
For the course from February till April it is advised to take warm clothes or clothes that can be worn in layers. Temperatures can be below zero at first. During the course the days will get to be longer and warmer.

The May/June course has friendlier temperatures although participants from tropic areas might consider them still ‘cold’.
The course from September till December can end with low temperatures, so warm clothes are advised again.
