Regularly, RNTC organises refresher courses for media professionals who participated in RNTC's open courses.
Its name says it all: a refresher course is meant to refresh the knowledge and skills alumni have gained during the open courses of RNTC in Hilversum. But it's not all about repeating. Each refresher course has a theme which will be explored during the two weeks of the course.
Participants come the hosting country as well as its neighbouring countries.
Refresher courses are a joint effort: they are developed by RNTC and one of its partner organisations, and financially supported by NUFFIC. NUFFIC stimulates international cooperation in higher education and is funded by the Dutch Ministries, the European Union and others.
Examples of courses in the past
Ethiopia: Getting the untold stories told, 2009
Zambia: Using educational media to engage children, young people and women in development, 2009
India: Training the Trainers, 2008
Future courses that are organized by RNTC will be announced at this website.
I should thank RNTC for teaching us the potential of the internet. Actually the course (Internet for Journalists) was a nice exposure for us who are coming from terribly poor countries in early 2000. The 2003 RNTC Internet course changed my career totally and I switched to ICTs thanks to that knowledge.
